There is an exciting opportunity to train with the University of Reading, and to join NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire (previously known as italk) – a highly regarded IAPT service within Hampshire. NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire is a large, innovative and transformational IAPT service. We are currently expanding the modalities of therapy we offer to our patient population, which has led to opportunities for therapists to broaden their therapeutic knowledge and skills into modalities other than CBT if they wish post-qualification.
Are you eligible to apply?
The course completed at the University of Reading is a Level 2 accredited course with BABCP. This means that upon completion trainees will meet criteria to apply for provisional accreditation as a CBT therapist with the BABCP.
To be appointable to this post, you must meet the criteria for CBT training and also have a BABCP-recognised professional background in mental health or related areas.
Permanent job roles will be offered on condition of passing the HI training course. There will be opportunities to progress to a Band 7 Therapist position within the service.
Interviews are due to take place in early December. As part of the interview process, you will be expected to complete a CBT assessment role play and, if successful, attend a second interview on the same day .
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The successful candidates will undertake a 12-month training course at the University of Reading. During this time, you will be trained to provide High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural therapy within a stepped care model for adults with common mental health problems, including depression and a range of anxiety disorders. You will be required to attend training at the University two days a week and working with a caseload of patients within service three days a week. It is expected that you would need to relocate for this post.

Qualifications
Essential
A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy.
OR
Evidence of meeting the Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) requirements of BABCP.
