Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our trust as an Apprentice Diagnostic Radiographer in Diagnostic Imaging and supported in a university course.
We have a post available at Colchester Hospital and a post at Ipswich Hospital.
It will take approximately 36 months to complete the apprenticeship during which time you can expect to be Workplace based for four days (30 hours) per week and 1 day (7.5 hours) will be protected study time. This will be with Sheffield Hallam University and there will be some in person elements to the teaching in Sheffield. Attendance of training is considered to be essential and annual leave must be arranged outside these sessions.

This development opportunity uses the apprenticeship standard for a Registered Diagnostic Radiographer which describes the skills, knowledge, values and behaviours required for this role. On completion of this apprenticeship you will meet the qualification requirements to apply for registration to the HealthCare Professions Council (HCPC).
A training programme delivered by Sheffield Hallam University will support in achieving the following qualifications:
BSc (hons) in Diagnostic Radiography
You will participate in training, development and on-going review activities. These will include:
Completing supernumerary practice and theory hours
Formal programmes of lectures, seminars and workshops
Workplace support in a range of practice settings
Completion of portfolios, essays, reflective accounts and projects
Access to learning facilities and resources
You will be expected to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your learning and skills in practice in accordance with the apprenticeship standard. Working under the direction of registered practitioners within multidisciplinary teams you will assist in the provision of care and support, meeting the care needs of the users of the service.
