Job Description

Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Assistant to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. We have exciting opportunities that is open to anyone wanting an hourly or a 1-year fixed-term contract. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22,525-£25,000 (or equivalent hourly rate) depending on experience.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As Social Media Assistant, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the Associate Director of Communications with the global digital marketing strategy to maximise reach, action, conversions and engagement across Human Appeals digital portfolio, delivering communications that help the charity capitalise on every opportunity to retain and engage with their donors / supporters / affiliates and partners.

We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.


Key duties and responsibil
ities of the Social Media Assistant:

    • Supporting the Associate Director of Communications with design, development, implementation, tracking and optimising a global digital marketing strategy to maximise reach, action, conversions and engagement by utilising the full digital marketing mix.
    • Supporting the delivering of effective communications online by developing and implementing digital marketing tactical campaigns / plans that help the charity capitalise on every opportunity to retain and engage with their donors, affiliates and partners.
    • Supporting the Associate Director of Communications with ensuring the charitys digital marketing activities are monitored, evaluated and adapted using appropriate online analytical tools, in order to illustrate campaign success, highlight improvements and make recommendations for future activities and developments.

What
were looking for in our Social Media Assistant:

    • Ideally degree-educated with a Bachelors degree in a related field, e.g. Digital, Marketing
    • Previous 1 year experience in digital marketing, including content marketing and social media
    • Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ), Google AdWords qualified, and Bing certified professional are desirable.
    • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu are desirable
    • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector

Our Greatest Achievements Include:

  • Safeguarding bright futures for more than 22,000 vulnerable orphans in 9 countries. Our one-to-one sponsorship programme has a built-in school attendance requirement while covering the cost of food, housing, medical care, and learning materials
  • Pioneering technologically innovative infrastructure projects in Pakistan, like designing and building a 25-km embankment on the Chenab River in Pakistan.   • Recovering lost livelihoods for vulnerable farmers in Gaza by planting 80,000 olive trees since 1991. The farming project provides each farmer with 30-40 prime olive trees so they can establish a vibrant, sustainable crop that yields not just food but income for generations
  • Restoring safe and secure residential spaces in Syria, like the construction of a new town with 1,000 newly constructed homes in Al Zahoor
