This article presents the outcome of Canada’s most recent Express Entry draw held on May 24, 2023.

In the latest draw, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a total of 4,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) in Canada. This draw marks the eighth all-program draw conducted by IRCC in 2023.

It is important to note that all-program draws consider applicants from all three programs within the Express Entry system, namely the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

All recipients of ITAs in this draw had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 488. This CRS cut-off score represents a five-point increase from the previous all-program draw held by IRCC on April 26, 2023, which had a minimum CRS score of 483.

Candidates who remain in the Express Entry pool after the latest round of invitations can expect another draw to take place in approximately two weeks.

About Express Entry:

Express Entry serves as a comprehensive system for managing immigration applications from the three programs mentioned earlier – the CEC, FSWP, and FSTP. It streamlines the process and serves as a crucial component of Canada’s immigration framework, attracting skilled foreign workers to contribute to the country’s economic and social growth by offering them the opportunity to obtain PR.

To become a Canadian permanent resident through Express Entry, foreign skilled workers must first assess their eligibility for the CEC, FSWP, and/or FSTP programs. Once deemed eligible, candidates can create an online Express Entry profile on IRCC’s website, officially entering the Express Entry pool and becoming eligible to receive an ITA in a future draw.

Once in the pool, candidates must wait for IRCC to issue the next round of invitations in an Express Entry draw. Candidates with CRS scores above the cut-off score for that particular draw will receive an ITA for Canadian PR. At this stage, candidates transition from being in the pool to becoming applicants, and they have 60 days from the date of receiving the ITA to submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) for PR in Canada.
